The New Year Party

Normally we go to sleep well before midnight on the new ear Eve. As it is there is nothing new in the year for me to loo for ward to, and there is no charm as such on this day. In fact I hate New years eve, for when we have gone out to friends for the party, when coming back, we are scared for we see boys drinking on bikes, driving crazily and in fact throwing beer bottles at cars, it is scary, with no cops around.

I wonder about parents, whose kids are so reckless on the roads, how they allow their children to be out so late and drinking and misbehaving. And over drinking, making an ass of themselves.

And what others do on New years eve I do everyday, that is drink, eat meat, smoke, I have the legal permission to do all this at home, in front of my family, my dad, and mom, even my grandmom. So what is there that I can do on the new year, that I don’t do all thru the year. Well I am not into dancing, and I don’t have affairs and girlfriends, so there is no charm in this day.

So I do what is best, sit at home, with my wife and kids, and the usual, we watch TV, and talk, with blankets around us, for it is usually cold this day of the year. But this year, my bhabhi had her 2 dozen cousins from Mumbai and abroad come over for the new year, so we had a blast at their place yesterday.

We had a cook and a helper called, for the few days they aer staying, and at 1500 per day, they are worth every bit of money. They cook so well, Indian Chinese, hyderbadi, veg and nonveg. So with him around, we had a blast at brothers new bunglow. Music and dance, and the wigs etc they brought from abroad added to the fun.

There was this lungi dance song, and these cousins were so spirited they wore skirts and wigs, and danced, and the spirit caught on to me, I too put on wigs, and danced.The pics are scary, but well so what, I am not now in a position to woo a Rakhi Sawant eh !

It does not take much to be happy in l ife, and to have a great party. 1500 for the cook, to cook for 30 people, and grocery for say 2000 maybe, and lo u have great food and snacks for 30 people, for all the 3 meals, that too on a new years eve, when everything is so costly. I guess I like the warm company of friends or relatives, to sing and dance at home, to eat hot fresh food, is my idea of heaven.

It was fun to chat and dance with my cousins meeting them after a long time, and everyone had a blast. Poor Bingo the doggie, was feeling left out, and we had to let him out in the lawns, in the freezing cold, because some of the cousins were scared of dogs, and the poor guy did not complain but slept in his bed outside .

And since yesterday none of the telephone schemes are working, and these telephone companies, even the govt BSNL have been charging exhorbitant charges of 1 /= per minute.this is sheer blackmail and I don’t like it one bit. So if I am not calling anyone to wish, they can understand, I am broke today.HAHA. Silly Joke.

I had a great time, what about u friends, do tell and share, so what even if u sat at home with yr family, that too is fun, no ?
