Is there life after delivery?

I read a message in my Facebook page which read as follows:

“In a mother's womb were two babies. One asked the other: "Do you believe in life after delivery?" The other replies, "why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later. "Nonsense," says the other. "There is no life after delivery. What would that life be?" "I don't know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths."

The other says "This is absurd! Walking is impossible. And eat with our mouths? Ridiculous. The umbilical cord supplies nutrition. Life after delivery is to be excluded. The umbilical cord is too short." "I think there is something and maybe it's different than it is here." the other replies, "No one has ever come back from there. Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery it is nothing but darkness and anxiety and it takes us nowhere."

"Well, I don't know," says the other, "but certainly we will see mother and she will take care of us." "Mother??" You believe in mother? Where is she now? "She is all around us. It is in her that we live. Without her there would not be this world." "I don't see her, so it's only logical that she doesn't exist." To which the other replied, "Sometimes when you're in silence you can hear her, you can perceive her."

What a subtle life message the above paragraphs delivered to us! We believe what we perceive is the world. The Creator is all around us without us knowing it. There is Creator who knows how to take care of our requirements, gives us what we deserve, listens to us carefully and is constantly in love with us. We build our life in the instrument called mind and begin the process of setting up our perceptions. We have the option to believe that we are responsible for our own life, refuse to cut all our ties (umbilical cord) and live in the womb (world) without knowing the world outside of it. Alternatively, we can explore what is in store for us after life, build spiritual knowledge, develop our own character that deserves the blessings of the Creator.

If we carefully observe the baby in the womb, it is constantly under development and is preparing itself to come to the world. Similarly, our life is also for development to prepare ourselves for the ultimate well-being of our divine being. We can visualize the death as end of life like the baby thinking delivery is the end of life or alternatively believe that there will be light after life and our preparation during the time here in this world helps us to see the light after life.

Frankly, birth removes the darkness of the baby and shows the light that exist in the world. Similarly, the death actually removes the darkness of ignorance and makes us understand the purpose of life. Life is about reconciling our perception with the reality. If mother around the baby knows how to protect the baby even after birth, the Creator who brought us into the world knows how to protect us even after our death.

When we review the life of a fetus in the womb, it is described as follows: The baby’s heart will begin to beat by the end of the first four weeks of pregnancy. During the second month, genitals will begin to form as will eyelids, but his eyelids will remain closed until later. In the third month, he will begin to form soft nails as his fingers and toes continue to grow. The fourth month begins the period where he can hear and swallow in the womb and he will begin to develop eyebrows and eyelashes. In the fifth month, the baby can suck his thumb, and wake and sleep regularly, and the mother can begin to feel him kick as he becomes more active. During the sixth month, the baby will start to grow hair, his brain begins to develop and he starts to open and close his eyes. In the seventh month, he can recognize light when his eyes open and can respond to sounds by moving around. During the eight month, he can hiccup and his bones begin to harden. In the last month of pregnancy, the baby gets ready for birth by turning his head into a downward position, and he’ll gain about a half-pound per week.

Similarly, our initial life is entirely dependent on the parents and their love. In the second phase, we begin to gain knowledge of perception. In the third phase, we begin to be independent and rely on our skills to survive in the world. In the fourth phase, we experience both pleasure and pain and begin to understand that life is a combination of both. In the fifth phase, we transition constantly between reality and perception. In the sixth phase, we begin contemplating on the purpose of our existence and become more active in understanding the reality. In the seventh phase, we begin to recognize the light that facilitated our existence. During the eighth phase, the experiences in life combined with the knowledge we gained enables us to prepare ourselves for us to thrive more in reality. In the final phase, we begin to cut off our ties, position ourselves for exit and seek the Creator.

I believe there is a reality after death and we are here to prepare ourselves for that reality.
