Best way to make jewelry from gold coins: please advise me!

Ladies, I have 2 gold coins. One is 25 grams, 24 ct gold coin bought in India (from ICICI bank).

The second is, American Eagle 22 ct (25 grams) gold coin, bought in, yes, US.

We are expecting our second baby now and I want to make a gold chain and gold anklets for the baby (as is our tradition). Which is the best way to go about it?

1. Do they melt it together and make 2 ornaments?

2. Is it better to send it to india and get it done?

3. Is it better to sell it and use the money to buy what ever we need?
