(w)here is god

Recently, went to Las Vegas. What a city!!! A marvelous work of humans in the middle of desert. If we close our eyes and think of desert, we see no water and miles and miles of sand. If we close our eyes and think of heaven, it would be filled with marble flooring, great fountains, apasras etc. Now think of heaven in desert - that is Las Vegas. A man made heaven. What great architecture. Complete cities replicated - New York, Paris, Egypt, Venice etc. Everything including the sky, windows, shops, buildings etc are replicated. Moving statues, great shows. A desert converted to heaven, started by Bugsy with the first casino named after his girl friend whom he called Flamingo. Reminded me of Indraprastha which was a difficult terrain converted into heaven by pandavas. But humans carry their vices along with them and hence God doesn't put humans in heaven only their soul goes there if qualified. Just like Draupadi, in her arrogance taunted Duryodhana resulting in the greatest war, Las Vegas has all the vices (greed, anger, lust, ego, attachment) and all are in full display. For some it is heaven, for some it is hell, for some heaven in hell and for some it is hell in heaven. So one thinks Where is God? There is no God visible in Las Vegas and the only place God exists, is in the currency, "In God We Trust". Probably the trust is in the slot machines of winning the jackpot with the last penny in the pocket. So the question arises if Man can create such a heaven in a desert, Where is God? Do we need God? Can God's heaven be different, beautiful than this heaven?

Moving from Las Vegas, We went to Hoover Dam, a great symbol of human capabilities in a tough terrain controlling a powerful Columbia river. The beauty is that both Las Vegas and the Hoover Dam were built during Great Depression, a time that God took the ultimate test of humans with worldwide depression and 25% or higher unemployment rate. So Where is God? Does God Exists?

Moving from Hoover Dam, we went to Grand Canyon. What a majestic site. Just as a librarian arranges books in the library, history of over 4 Billion years is organized in the layers of the canyons with various rock formations and when sun light lights it up, a wide spectrum of beautiful colors emit from the canyon. A mile deep and as wide and far as the eye can see, huge canyons spread around. Beyond that God developed a plethora of ecosystem (plants, animals, birds, insects) surviving temperatures of -8 degrees Fahrenheit to 84 degrees Fahrenheit. From the space, the Grand Canyon is the most distinct landmark. No man-made seven wonders are as distinctly visible as the Grand Canyon. Looking at the beauty, one feels "Here is God".
