Banana Clip not fitting in my hair

Hi,

When ever I put Banana clip(that lock at the end), after sometime it becomes loose. I have seen others wearing it that fits properly. What could be problem. I have wavy & moderate thick hair. Even for my DD also it doesn't fit properly, she has straight and good volume of hair.

Is there any special way of wearing it?

I don't know whether this is valid question, but whenever I see other wearing it perfectly , I wonder why I am unable to put it.
