Every woman’s heart has different instructions….. They’re written through her eyes, in her smile, through her actions and in her tears. She just has to find….. someone who cares enough to read them. ~

Woman of yesteryears , our time and present have gone through life in different ways. Of yesteryears . The patience to listen, the strength to support , care is just in a woman . Woman of yester years were more patient. They lived in joint families, they were not educated but had good knowledge and their main aim was to support their husband in everything and manage the family not only their own family but their husband's family. They did not have faciliites as wehave today but they were happy , contented and had peaceful life. Whatever difficulties they had to face they were told to be in their husband's house and did not have courage to leave them. This brings me memories of my grandmother who did not have a son and stayed with her daughter that is my mother and was like a mother to us. Whatever we wished she used to prepare and give us. She was very smart and could go out alone though she did not know other language except tamil. Early morning she will do the cooking and never used to allo w us to struggle and always used to support us and teach us good things. Whatever we are we owe to her . She brought steel vessels from the person who used to bring themat our door by giving old clothes , only some she brought from the shop . She was expert in cooking , especially making kai murukku. She was there in Delhi for my sister's delivery and one day when I did not go to bring the food from home, she thought it is late and she herself brought to the hospital and we were surprised because it was a new place for her and still she managed. It was sad that she suffered from cancer in her last days but glad that I had the opportunity to look after her.

Woman at our times were little advanced than them. But at that time also there were less love marriages and if anyone used to love anyone they did not have the courage to tell their parents but run away from house. Our time also had working woman . We had to manage home and office and the ladies who used to be at home used to think we are lucky as a working woman but they did not realise that at office we had to face the bosses and keep them happy , taking leave was difficult and the children used to miss us and we had to leave under the care of maids. Only some were lucky to have good maids who looked after their children very well.

Woman of today have to face many challenges. There is so much competition in today's world. They are more educated and want to get married to a person who is more educated than them . They also manage home and office. The difference between our time and present is some of us could not graduate so we were not in higher position but today's woman are well educated and are in higher position so they have more responsibilities.

We are cute daughters, we are sweet sisters,

we are lovely lovers, we are darling wives,

we are adorable mothers, we are source of strength,

we are WOMEN!
