Plants that can be grown in Arizona

Friends - do any of you have experience in growing plants ( Herb/vegetables/flowers) in the Arizona weather (ground/potted)?

I have a good healthy aloe in a pot for the last 8-10 months and gained some interest in growing Kariveppilai, Pudina, tomatoes/other veggies.

If you have experience and ideas, please pour your suggestions to me.
