Career change from IT to Accounting

Hi everyone! I am here to get some information regarding cpa certification. I am a computer science engineer with 5 years of IT experience in India. Then I moved to US on H4 and its been 5 years since. I am now planning to do some course/certification so that I can try for a job. My husband is suggesting me to do CPA. Anyone who has knowledge/experience about CPA/accounting field, can you please clarify

1. If I am eligible to take CPA.

2. Is it wise to get into accounting from IT ?

3. For a starter with computer science background, What is the prospect of getting a job if I complete CPA, taking into account I am in my 30s ?
