Beware!

"Sir!", pleaded the little fish

Afraid to raise its voice a bit.

An eye half opened as it wished.

"m?", was all it heard then but,

Felt so happy for just that response.

"May I, oh Esteemed Sir ask you one

Doubt?", it asked and felt a half glance

And relieved to see a hesitant nod then.

"Why are you here since morning and

Why do you stand on one leg since then?",

It quickly ended with an audible gasp and

Paused, just feeling it had already won!

"Hear me oh little one! I,

Abstained from my bad habits since

A long time and now choose to lie

With peace, sharing wisdom hence,

I go from one place to another and

Help many little ones like you as I

See and request them to bring one

Or more of their folk too!". It sighed.

"I ate your kind so many years back

And wished to be redeemed from sin!

These nails tore flesh of many fish.

Now put to rest, they are like rusted tin!".

"Come closer, now and don't be afraid!

I will give you gyan that will lift you

From all others who'll be simply laid,

To dust, I pity them! Don't you too?",

It asked, as the little fish then moved

Farther from the crane, that shook its head.

"Thank you Sir!", it said and quickly went.

The crane felt as if it swallowed lead.
