Please suggest a decent apartment in Edison, Hackensack or other city close to NYC.

At present I live in Oxford Arms, Edison. Apartment is excellent compared to others, but I can't stand the bugs problem during summers, fall.

I'm looking for some apartment which is minimum 1 hour commuter to NYC by train.

Oxford Arms, is great since they have shuttles taking to train station. But this is an old apartment with lushly greeneries, so that means insects!!!

Can someone suggest me a bit newer apartment like 20 years apartment would be good enough. Most apts in NJ are 40, 60 years old.

I have heard Hackensack is good. Is it really good? Do we have Indians there, atleast 3, 4 restaurants and groceries...thats what I meant by good.

Any other city besides Edison & Hackensack, which is somewhat Indian community based and close commute to NYC is what I'm looking for.

Jersey City, i'm not interested. The cheap ones there are really dirty and the good ones are above $2000. So I eliminate that. I'm looking for 1br around $1500.
