We visited the Maryland portion of Assateague Island. Assateague's 'wild' horses are famous. (They are actually feral - descendents of domisticated horses abandoned long back in this region)

Lots of horses in the park.
The horses making an entrance in the beach. (Though we saw a lot of them on the way, we thought we were going to miss seeing them on the beach, but we got lucky and these four came an hour before we left)
They enjoyed the beach for a while and left as the sun began to set.
