Child bearing has obtained a new international dimension. Oocyte cryopreservation or freezing of a woman’s eggs is stated to be an option to extend fertility and delay motherhood. Silicon Valley technology giants have offered $20,000 to both full-time and part-time women employees to freeze their eggs and $480 annually to store them in order to enable these women to focus on their careers and delay child bearing.

Cancer afflicted women had necessarily to preserve their eggs before the Chemotherapy treatment started so that the foetus is not affected by chemotherapy treatment given to the mother.That which started as an exception to cancer patients ,is now adorning the table as a common rule.

. A woman who wants rise in the corporate ranks, is willing to postpone her motherhood. Present laws framed long ago cannot address the legal problems emanating from modern procedures. Banking is no longer associated with just money but with sperms and eggs as well.

It is a known fact that motherhood after 35 involves certain risks to the health of the mother.Now additional problems arise due to tampering of nature and avoidable interference.This may assure career progress but will it assure 100% healthy babies?

Professionals living in different locations are forced towards such techniques. Babies are no longer a pleasure and joy, but a compulsion.

Frozen embryo in a cryogenic jar also has a life.Are we not interfering in the life of the unborn child, who may perhaps like to be brought by young parents with joy and enthusiasm and not after 20 years after the parents have become old enough.The corporates are definitely exploiting the career oriented women, as there is no law which can assure a healthy baby.Not only the embryo, but the parental pleasures are put in frozen compartments.

Certain things in life should be done at the appropriate time. Of course there may be a few exceptions.Looks like an illiterate start learning alphabets at 50.

Childbirth has different implications for men and women. While men continue to lead normal lives, women, esp, working ones have to adjust. They deal with bodily changes as well as changes at work. They have to take maternity leaves and some even give up their jobs. It would help if, after the initial nursing period, men could chip in too by taking a year or two off from their work while the mothers went back to work. This would make women feel less threatened about falling out of the job market and consider having children naturally.

I don't know where we are heading in life! We humans change everything natural in the name of growth and wealth. One day we will be surrounded by piles of money and money alone with nothing natural to lead a normal human life.

However some people argue that women have every right of assessing when to become mother,or can choose to be completely career oriented , not at all inclined for procreation.It should be left to the complete discretion of women and they should not be governed by judicial over reach.

Until we change the way in which we bring up our children and share responsibilities,cryopreservation of eggs, even with its negative implications ,perhaps, is the only way to help women who want a high ranking profiled job as well as children.

It is a million dollar question what pleasure and enthusiasm a woman in hi-fi profile will derive on attaining motherhood at 45?
