Fight with DH and inlaws

You did nothing wrong. Your ILs complained about your mom to someone over phone, you overheard it. Your husband wanted you to ignore which you did and didn't speak with the ILs. If the ILs find it so insulting then they should mend their ways. If you husband wants you to talk to them he must tell his parents not to bad mouth your mom. Them not eating is their choice. They are not kids.

You did the right thing by not opening your mouth to you ILs about it. Ignore the fight with your husband and be normal as you would be always. Focus on your bundle of joy. Your husband will get over it. If he is willing to talk tell him that his parents hurt you and you just kept quite to avoid any drama.
